KYC means “Know Your Customer”. These are basic details that banks need to know about you (and verify) for you to be able to use their services. It helps verify that no one else is using this account in your name, helps identify whether you are risky to the bank, etc
When you complete your onboarding formalities with us, you complete a part of your KYC (it's still not fully done). At this stage, you can start using your account but it comes with many restrictions (for example - you can only spend upto Rs. 5,000 a day). However, once you complete your full KYC, you will not have such limitations, and you can properly use the account. You can then also order your physical NiyoX debit card.
We have two ways to complete your KYC - Video KYC (completely digital, over a video call) and Biometric KYC (someone will visit your house to take your thumbprint on a machine). If you have your original PAN card available, we recommend choosing Video KYC (it’s much quicker and more convenient).
Here are the steps to schedule your KYC on the NiyoX app:
- Video KYC: Home Page -> Pending Actions (on the top of the screen) -> “Complete Now” (under “Complete Full KYC “) -> “Start Video VKYC”
- Biometric KYC: Home Page -> Pending Actions (on the top of the screen) -> “Complete Now” (under “Complete Full KYC “) -> “Schedule Visit”.
